Sunday 5th June: going to Cornwall

I woke up at 6am. I finished packing a few things and then stumbled over to Amanda's room to say that I was ready whenever they were.

They seemed a little bit frustrated possibly. Then the taxi arrived and we got in and we went to the train station. Going on this journey is Amanda, Amelia, and Billie. And then we will meet up with Liddy in Bristol.

I didn't really take enough photos to document the trip like I might normally.

We had to first take a bus to Derby because they were doing something on that section of track today joining Nottingham to Derby.

The journey went as usual. I had a small nap because I'd only had 1.5 hours of sleep the previous night. We ate sweet peas, hommus, carrots, and other stuff.
Me looking a little tired.

We first went over into Wales to somewhere near Cardiff. Then the train went in the reverse direction, underneath the mouth of the river Severn, and then into Bristol.

We got off and then met Liddy who was waiting there with her car. Then we drove off. I got given the navigator position. I wasn't sure how this would go since roads in England are crazy. We drove for a little way further and Liddy seemed to be a little bit distracted by the whole event. Then her phone was ringing and Amanda was getting it from her bag for her, and then Liddy was turning around because Amanda was looking in the wrong section of the bag. But as she was turning around, the cars in front were slowing down and Liddy didn't recognise until slightly too late so that the car crashed into the one in front. It was a bit of a fright. Everyone in the car was a bit shocked and not quite sure what to do and hoping that Liddy was okay. Liddy was a bit shaken as would be expected. Luckily the person in front didn't mind too much and there didn't seem to be any damage which would affect the running of the vehicle.

Then we drove to a car park because we needed food. We got food and everything, and Liddy talked to her parents on the phone and it was a little better then possibly. We drove the rest of the wall to Cornwall.

It was a reasonably long distance. Liddy told us a game that her sister came up with. If you see a horse, you say "horse" and then you get that horse, and the person with the most horses wins. Also if there are multiple horses then you have to say "horse" for each one. Amanda and I were the leaders in that game. Amelia played some music through her mp3 player into the tape machine of the car. She played some Arcade Fire and I thought that sounded really good actually. I was really surprised and I wonder what I have been missing by ignoring that type of stuff.

After a while we got to the place. It looked really good. There is a stream on the side and lots of trees around. Amelia and I determined that we would climb them. There was some doubt whether we would have the place because apparently someone forgot to confirm that we wanted to book it. It was just booked provisionally or something. But it turned out that we did get it. Hooray. Apparently this cottage is owned by Liddy's grandparents.

I think we played some card games before going to bed. It was fun.
