I was really tired because of the stuff last night with the crazy loud person. So I started a bit late. Then I realised that I really had to wash clothes. I've been wearing very dirty clothes for a while and it's not good. Also, the weather here is very humid, so you sweat a lot. So, this morning I washed some clothes.
After that I bought two mangoes, some yoghurt, chocolate biscuits, and water. The mangoes were very good.
Then I caught the 1 train a few blocks south to the Museum of Natural History. Again the price was "recommended". So I gave them $1. This meant that I couldn't see the special exhibitions, but I found that the main non-exhibition parts of the museum were pretty good.

| They had these things set up to make the scene look real. It was done fairly well I think, with the transition from painting in the back, to the three dimensional stuff at the front. It looked good. A museum guy was saying that these things were all quite expensive, so they asked for sponsorship from rich people, and as a bonus to any who paid for one of these, they were taken on a safari where they could shoot the animal which was featured in their display. |
| Beavers. Cool animal. |
| Shows the different regions of vegetation in the USA. |
| A slice of a giant tree. From near San Francisco. I'm getting lots of similarities here to the one I saw at the British Museum of Natural History about a week earlier. |
| Australian scene. |
| A painting of the gates of Babylon. You can see the real one in Berlin. |
| I went in here with some people and then we watched a video about the big bang and everything. I had a strange thought that I guess we are kind of inside the 'explosion' rather than on the outside somewhere. I'd never thought about that before for some reason. I have to read more on how that is supposed to work, sometime. |
| There was a feature about medical paintings from Nepal. They included some interesting details. |
| I left the museum and then on the outside I saw that they had a time capsule. They're not going to open it until the year 3000. That's very far away. |
| The time capsule I guess. |
Then I decided to walk across central park and wander around for a little while. So I did that.
| Lots of people hanging out. |
| A lake, and a 'castle'. |
| Just before this section there was a wide open place where people were going around on roller skates and skate boards. There were some people creating some nice rhythms on the drums. And an old guy was standing gyrating to it. It was interesting. He was getting into it. |
| This horse is taking a big drink. |
I left Central Park and then I decided to see the UN building. So I went wandering over in that direction.
| This is that bridge where spiderman fought against the green goblin. |
| I saw a waterplane land. |
| Trump Tower. The thing on the left. It looks a bit ordinary I think. |
| This person on the horse seem to be stabbing a creature which is a cross between a lizard, and a space shuttle. |
| I found a pizza place so I ordered some pizza. |
| This pizza was really big. It is supposed to be only 12 inches. I think it is about 15. |
| Eating it was a challenge. |
| It defeated me. I could not eat this last portion. |
| Then I decided to walk toward the Grand Central Station. |
| It looked alright inside. |
| I wandered toward a subway station. I saw the New York Public Library, I think. But it was closed so I couldn't go inside. |
Then I walked over to Times Square, had a bit of a look at a distance, then caught the 1 train north to 103 street. I went into my hostel, tried to use the internet but found that the wifi was clogged with congestion and not really functioning, and then I went to sleep. The noisy guy was back. I thought he'd left, but he apparently had not.
