May 19th - 27th: more exams and studying

I guess that in this week I did a bunch more studying. I had two more exams to go: Linear Analysis and Coding and Cryptology. I'm writing this blog late so I'm just going to gloss over the whole thing.

I went to see two movies some time. I think that was during this week, or possibly the previous one.

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4. I thought it was really bad. The plot was incredibly convoluted and stupid. The whole movie was just a vehicle to show a bunch of vaguely pirate things and elaborate escape scenes for Johnny Depp. But even those scenes were really stupid. Because they were really contrived and didn't obey logic. And there were mermaids that were more like vampires and could shoot things out their hands for some reason, to catch the people they wanted to eat, except when Johnny Depp was running right next to them, then they could only try to grab with their slippery hands which failed. The movie was really stupid. I just can't see why they can't pay a little bit of money to get someone to write a decent story for them.

I also watched a movie called Hangover II. There was some funny things but also some things made my cringe a bit. I think I'm disassociated with the youth of today.

I did a whole lot of studying for Linear Analysis. There was a little too much to learn possibly, and I left it too late. This is really a topic where I should have gradually done studying throughout the semester so that all the concepts could cement themselves in my brain. There is a lot of proving required in this topic, which requires a kind of deep understanding of the concepts which can't be learned quickly. Thankfully I did more study in this subject than in the others.

This exam went okay. It was always going to be a little tough because that's how these kind of subjects are. But I made some nice work on a lot of questions.

THen I had a day off where I frantically did studying for the Coding and Cryptology exam. I'd been to just three classes for this subject as well. So it was interesting. But there wasn't that much in this subject. I learnt most of it, and then the exam went okay.

Then I was finished exams. Hooray!
