Monday 13th: being tired and then doing some things in the evening

I think that on this day I felt quite tired after the Wales thing. I was also feeling a bit annoyed because I lost my camera the previous day. But I emailed the Rambling people and asked if it had maybe turned up. I was hoping that before return the vans to the hire place they would have checked under the seats to make sure that nothing was left behind. I guess they did because they said that one of the guys has it. This was great. They said that I could go and pick it up from his house sometime and that he'd be home tonight so I could go then, but that to message first just to check that he's home. But I had no credit because I sent my last message to Fred asking if I could stop at his house on the way there to pick up a photo card thing that Matthias had given me that I had forgot to take home with me.

So I went and got my camera.
Got my camera back. It's a good day.

I stopped in at Fred's house and got the thing. It was strange seeing these guys probably/possibly for the last time. It's some kind of empty feeling that the times you meet the people are sort of the last.

Then I walked back to the hall. I might have tried to do a little bit of tidying of my room. I think I got a little bit of it done.

In the evening was a formal dinner. The note said that a lounge suit would be okay. I truthfully didn't think about this much and thought that lounge suit was analogous for saying that you can wear anything that feels kind of comfortable that doesn't necessarily have to be very formal but that looks kind of neat. The kind of suit you might wear when you're lounging around, feeling alright about things. But I met up with the other girls who I'd be sitting with, and they told me that a lounge is actually some kind of suit, and that possibly it's a quite fancy kind of suit. Whoops. I had on my 5 pound red converse clones, jeans, and a long sleeve gray-ish shirt. I should have maybe bought a second hand suit from a second hand/charity shop after I'd arrived in Nottingham. But I never did.

I met with those girls and then Billie took some pictures of us. Arrie and I bought a bottle of rose wine to share. Then we ate the meal. It was a pretty good meal. For starters they had chicken with sundried tomato, salad and chunks of mozarella cheese. For the main meal most of us went for the vegetarian option. It was something stuffed inside tomatoes I think. It was quite good. The non-vegetarian was something like lamb. Dessert was some kind of creamy thing covered in fruit sauce type stuff. It was good.

When the dinner was finished, everyone began to leave. One of the tutors asked the people on my table if we wanted to go back with all them where the old professors and a few others would chat and drink a bit more. The girls at the table didn't seem interested but I decided I'd give it a go.

The wine was free, so I drank a few glasses or so. I tried some port. It was quite strong, so I went for the red wine. I chatted with a few of those guys, and then left.

The girls were playing some games in their building, but I couldn't get in because they couldn't hear me knocking and I had no credit to message them. Then I went back to my room, and Amanda messaged me on facebook asking if I wanted to come over, because she'd just got back, and I said, yes, please let me in.

We played some games. The games were fun. We played one where cards were dealt which indicate what role you are. You are either a wolf, a citizen, a doctor, a seer, a witch, or possibly something else. No one knows who the other people are. You all close your eyes and one person who runs the game asks the specific roles to open their eyes and perform some action. For example the wolf tries to kill someone. It is their goal to kill everyone without being found out. The others do other things like save people, or make an accusation on who they think is the wolf. Then you all open your eyes, possibly someone is dead, and then you all have to discuss with everyone who you think is the wolf, then vote on who you want to shoot dead, hoping to kill the wolf. You continue that way until either everyone is dead but the wolf, in which case the wolf wins, or the citizens kill the wolf, in which case the citizens win. It was really fun.

I was a little bit drunk so I was enjoying playing this game.

Then Amanda and Amelia came up and played as well. We played for a little bit longer. Someone fed me more chardonnay. Then we finished playing and I went downstairs to Amanda's room with her and Amelia. Then we hung out for a while. These people are fun people and I had fun hanging out with them.
