We woke up sometime and then went for a nice walk. It was really cool. I loved the scenery. It is all very flowery and lush down here especially with spring around. It had rained during the night and a little in the morning so it was a bit muddy. It was fun navigating around the mud. The day before leaving for this I'd bought some new shoes because the dunlop volleys are basically destroyed and the other shoes have the sole falling off and I never liked them that much because they were very loud to walk in. People could always hear me coming from far away. So these new shoes are a copy of the converse all star shoes. I wasn't sure if I should buy them because it's supposedly "uncool" and all that stuff. But... these shoes cost 5 pounds... they seem to be identical to the authentic ones... the authentic ones cost 35 pounds and they're probably the closest to Dunlop Volleys. So I'm starting to really like this purchase. I got them from Primark. So I was trying not to destroy the shoes in the mud, but it was also good because they were too white looking. Amanda and Amelia were kind of trying not to destroy their shoes. Liddy and Billie were wearing gum boots.

| Amanda was teasing me a bit, so I stole her stick and hid it, and then I think she chased me a bit trying to hit me, so I ran away but, on the way I brushed through some things where something stung me. I thought it was a bee or something. Then Amelia said "oh it was probably a Stinging Nettle. That's when I learnt about this thing. Apparently it is some kind of low plant thing that has things which will stick into your skin causing a stinging sensation if you brush past them with bare skin. The stinging increases for a little while and it gets red and lumpy. Then the stinging stops a little bit and it feels tingly like a burn underneath cold running water. It was quite interesting actually. |
| These things are apparently poisonous. |
| Amelia and I rolled down this hill. It was really great. |
| Twisting trees. |
| Really amazing scenery. |
| Amelia and I went for a little skip and then we found some cows. |
| Potatoes. Somewhere I found another stinging nettle. They were everywhere. Amelia accidently got stung by one to and she was showing me up saying that I overreacted, so I stung myself again. This one was not so bad though. I don't think it got me very well. |
| My very good impression of the LOTR scene hiding from the black riders. |
| A butterfly. It's dead. |
| Then we got back home. I think we took longer than might have been planned, maybe because I was doing some gallivanting looking at potatoes. |
| We headed off to the beach. |
| A cornish town. Trying to get cornish pasties. But we were a bit too late. They had none left. |
| I'm doing the bogan thing. Walking around the supermarket in my thongs. |
| Really nice beach. We had to climb down the side of the cliff. |
| Nice beach! |
We ate some food. Chicken, hommus, other stuff, other stuff, bread. It was alright. Then we swam. The water was very very cold. I thought I would be alright but it was like ice. I got in and my body was pretty much shaking uncontrollably. Then I said that it was getting a bit warmer and Amelia said that was probably the blood slowing down in my arms or something like that. We swam for a bit longer and then got out. Then we played a little bit of beach cricket. I think Australia won. Then we climbed back up the cliff (much harder) and then got changed ready for the play.
| The venue for the play was really cool. |
The play was Canterbury Tales. I have the book but I've never really read it. I thought the play kind of convinced me that maybe i should. I thought the stories were quite entertaining although I had a little trouble understanding most of them. Billie said she understood quite a bit less, because she is chinese. The acting and stuff was a little bit amateur. But there were some kind of funny moments. The worst part, though, was when someone came out and did a rap for about 5-6 minutes. There wasn't a lot of humour in it, and it was really really awkward and it kept going for a long time.
Then we went home and Amelia and I played some card games which Amelia beat me really decisively at because I'm bad at card games.
