Friday 10th: going to Wales

I was pretty tired. I think I was a bit worried about getting my stuff packed up to move out of the hall since I was going to leave on the following Wednesday. I was a bit slow in getting things done. I got my clothes into the washing machine with just enough time to get them dried in time to leave. I was going away to Wales with the Rambling Society. I went to Tesco and got some food. I got things ready just in time. I was feeling quite tired and hungry etc. I think I didn't eat enough the day before because i was travelling on the train and I missed the breakfast in the morning.

I got to the place to meet the Rambling people. We headed off. It started to rain a lot.
I sat next to Sarah on the bus. I met her at an earlier Rambling trip. She is friends with Tanja and some of the other girls from the hall since she studies theology with Tanja.

On the bus they played some crazy music. First was that Meatloaf album. Sarah and I agreed that his name is really terrible. Then we listened to a whole lot of Iron Maiden. Then some Dire Straits. Then an Irish acoustic guitar player. The Irish guy was the best. He played all the classics, and it was a live recording so he was telling the crowd to clap their hands and stamp their feet. Sarah and I couldn't resist. We were feeling it. I think those Irish folk songs are really good, especially after hearing this. I'm really excited to get back to a guitar and try and play these songs.

Like Bunnings, but something else.

We stopped in Shrewsbury or Chesterton or somewhere to get food. I went to find food. I found a chip shop first. I paid 1.2 pounds for the worst chips ever. I ate a few and then found a pizza place. I got a vegetarian pizza. The pizza was quite good. But, to get back to the place to meet the others, my plan was to use a parallel road. But the road wasn't really parallel. I got a bit confused, and it was at the time when they told us we should be back at the van. But I found my way back.

It's probably 9:40pm here. The sun goes down really late. It's great.
We got to the hostel. It's really secluded. It looks great. It's surrounded by forest. We got things sorted. A few people played poker. Then we went to bed.
