May 2nd - 9th: maths assignment, made a movie

Four weeks late writing this blog. I've been doing exams.

I spent the first three quarters of this week trying to finish a maths exam.

Since I had only started the exam the day before it was due, because I was in Europe, I didn't get it finished by the due date to a very satisfactory degree. Assignments here only lose 5% every day that they are late. So I decided that it was much better to hand it up a bit late and spend some time working on it. Also, I had actually not really been to any of these classes before the break, on the material that was in this assignment. So I had to just find out what the definitions are, and then use the theorems to try and link all the stuff together. I was struggling a bit to prove the last question of this assignment, right up until Friday which is when I had decided I would hand it in. But then I realised that I'd misread soemthing in the statement that I had to prove. I misread something not being some other thing when it actually was that thing. There was no 'not' in the statement. Or it was the other way around to that. That meant that there was something to go with, and then the whole thing was proven. I was very happy to have gotten that bit out. Nevertheless I was a bit disappointed in myself for letting the assignment sit around not being done for so long prior to getting back to Nottingham. I got this assignment back a few weeks later and got 37/50. Not bad under the circumstances. He said I did the last question very well! Hooray.

At some point I made a movie. A few weeks after taking the pictures for this I realised that Picasa lets you put these things together and save as a video file. Here it is:

I probably did some other things this week but I can't really remember.

After I finished my maths assignment I worked on exam revision a fair bit. Although I found myself getting distracted in my room quite often which was annoying me.
