I woke up reasonably early for the rambling. Got my stuff ready and made it out ready to catch the bus. At a later stop Helen got on and sat in the seat next to me. She was the leader from last time that lead us down the awesome slippery track. She also studies maths but is in second year.
Along the way I was trying to figure out why my hot cross buns had white marks on the underneath that looked fairly similar to mold. I had only bought them two days ago. I was very hungry, so I ate one regardless. For the second one I decided to pull the white infected bits off.
The area was very nice. I went on walk 4. It sounded really cool. I think the views on this day were really amazing.
Started out walking through a bit of really nice forest.
We had to cross this stream. It was great fun.
We started climbing up a bit of hill.
This hill was quite tiring.
Got to the top and had a little rest. At the top of the hill there are big rocks that are good to sit on.
We walked along the top of this ridge.
Great views all along the ridge.
Stopped for lunch. I sat at the end of this rock on the dge of the cliff.
Looking down, I can see tiny people.
We crossed the flat top section for a little way. It was a bit boggy in some places.
A guy from Belgium took a cool picture of me.
I think the rocks here look like they are from some kind of 60's science fiction depiction of an alien world.
Walking down off the ridge.
Now we had to walk back the way we had come. Great views of the mountains.
We walked through this forest and then were back where we had started.
We got back to the campus and I got off the bus. I went inside and sat down for a while. Then I decided to get my pictures onto my computer so I could have a look. My camera was not anywhere in my bag. I realised then that I had left it on the bus. I remembered feeling something knocking against my foot while on the bus, and I realised that it was most probably my camera that had fallen to the ground after I'd been rearranging some things out of my bag. I was fairly annoyed with myself. There was an uncomfortably high probability that I would not see the camera again. I emailed the Ramsoc people, but I still felt pretty bad about it all and it didn't give me much hope. It was 9:30 and I was feeling very tired. I didn't think I could do very much while feeling fairly annoyed, so I went to bed.
Love the pics but your hike "walk" wore me out just thinking about it! Thanks for sharing.
