The train journey was pleasant. There were some young people coming back from a party I think. They slept for a while, but I'm not yet confident that I won't sleep past the point where I have to get off to change train, so I stayed awake. It took a few hours before the sun came up. It was nice.
I got back to Nottingham and it was quite strange. On the plane journey the previous night the pilot happily told us we were going someplace where it was about 20 degrees warmer, being +4 celsius. In comparison to Finland, this now felt like a very pleasant day!
The walk home felt a little long. But each step brought me closer and I was very excited to be able to wear clean clothes again. I was tired. I got there eventually. I was even early enough to get the breakfast in the hall! It stops being served at 9:30am. But first I had a shower and put on clean clothes. This was very good.
At breakfast I told the others a few of my stories about the crazy Russian man and almost dying in the arctic. Then I spent a few hours relaxing, not doing much, in my room. Then I had three hours of lectures.
First lecture was Linear Analysis. I was a bit nervous since I hadn't been to classes in a while. But it was all very straight forward. I even answered three of the questions the lecturer sprung on us. The lecturer looked around for someone to offer the answer, but they were all reluctant. I had to end the awkward prolonging of this scene. At a few points in the lecture I felt my brain almost turn off, and like I could fall asleep within seconds. I decided to skip the next lecture. I had no energy left.
The rest of the day I didn't do very much. Most of the other people I know here had tickets to an ice hockey derby match - Nottingham University against Trent University (this is the other university in Nottingham). Unfortunately I couldn't get a ticket before I left because they were sold out. But I think this was good because I had no energy to go anyway.
In the airport at 4:30am. I survived through the night. Yay.
Feeling just a little bit tired.
A well balanced diet.
