Wednesday 9th March: A little studying, movies and video games at Fred's house

Had a big sleep-in this day. Got a nutella and banana pancake and two slices of pizza for breakfast / lunch. Did a little bit of homework while spending most of the time listening to a Devin Townsend song of his cover of New York, New York sung by Frank Sinatra. I think it gets better on each listen. I listened to the song at least 20 times this day, so I think it deserves to be added to the blog entry:
This is Devin Townsend being a little silly, but he does it so well.

Dinner tonight was pretty terrible. I got the chicken which tasted okay at first, but then I noticed that some of the bits of chicken looked like they were genetic mutants with strange bits hanging off. Eww. The soup was unlabelled and tasted like everything thrown in and then huge amounts of artificial flavouring added to give a consistent flavour throughout. The cake was good as usual. At dinner I got a message saying people would be watching movies at Fred's house at 8. Cool.

A little after Dinner I walked there. We watched My Neighbour Totoro. It's one of the films made by Studio Ghibli. I'd not seen this one before. I really liked it. It was a little sad and cute in places. There were some really nice things the movie was trying to show. Also, a few weeks ago I watched the movie Monsters vs Aliens. A typical animated kids/adult-ish comedy. In that, one of the 'monsters' was a big strange creature that was most likely inspired by Totoro.

After the movie we were going to watch Euro-trip, but it was taking long to get the movie. So we played super mario emulations with an xbox styled gamepad. Donkey Kong. It was good.
