Thursday 31st: packing up my room, a few drinks at Britta's house

The europe trip is coming up quite fast. I'm leaving Nottingham tomorrow. I spent quite a while packing up stuff. Almost got it all done, but still quite a bit left to do.
All my stuff lying around the place.

I'm going a little bit insane with worry that this won't be finished in time. So my coping mechanism is to take stupid pictures. Another name for this is 'procrastination'.

In the evening I went to a party thing at Britta's house. I met Charlotte, Matthias, and Fred by the Portland building since we planned to walk over together. When I got there we realised that none of us knew the directions. Matthias just had the address written down. We decided to take a taxi. The taxi took a little while to get to us and then the taxi driver seemed unable to determine locations himself despite having the exact address. He wanted us to tell him where it was. He eventually had to talk with Britta over the phone who told the man where it is. Very strange. For the drive over, we listened to the driver's indian music.

The party at Britta's house was quite nice. She lives in a really nice house. She is an exchange student for one semester also. From Germany. She is living with a medical student who is a little strange I think. He's been studying at university for 15 years so far, working now on his fourth degree. That would be a nice life if you could have it. He had a lot of stories to tell. I wonder if he stretched the truth with some things he said. He claims to have genetically engineered a plant (currently in his living room within view of us) by combining plant and human dna. He claimed some other things too. Hmm. Apologies are owed to this man if I'm being unfairly cynical.
This huge bear is awesome. It's called George.

We had six people but all the taxis seem to be maximum five. So Britta rode 'undercover' out of view of the driver.

I got home and did a little more packing up, but I was feeling quite tired and like I wasn't making much progress so I went to bed at 3 or 4am with it not yet finished.
